It’s also represented by abilities like Flametongue Weapon and Earth Shield. In game terms, that means Shaman use totems like Healing Stream Totem, Tremor Totem, and the spec-specific totems. That’s the best I can get for now, I could probably think of more later, but for the moment it has been a long work night lol. The part of the class fantasy that Shadowlands is emphasizing is how shamans call upon the powers of the elements to aid themselves and their allies. Lots of buffs and support spells, slightly lower in the DPS output than other jobs to compensate. Unsurprisingly Dark Knight and Death Knights are similar edgelord tanks, SLIGHTLY less zombies in dark Knight though.īard and Dancer are like if you took a hunter and mixed it with old school holy Paladin. Dragoon I’d lump with demon hunter because they both have the same reputation when it comes to causing unfortunate mishaps with their zooming around. Monks are similar of you go back to old monks with fifty million buttons and stances, but in ffxiv throw in a bunch of positional requirements so throw some rogue in it I guess. Enhancement shaman might be closer to ninja, ninja is fast paced with a tool for every situation, but it’s got a bit of set up first. Red mage is definitely closest in feel to elemental shaman in terms of pacing. Black mage is just arcane mage but more fire, right down to the “drop a rune and stand in it for a dps buff” and the “blow and recover your mama”. Scholar is like MoP-era disc priest when they had throughput heals AND shields. Summoner and warlocks are very close, have pets, many DoTs. Holy priest and white mage are very similar faceroll heals with HoTs. There’s nothing really like druids, no shapeshifting jobs. Paladin is pretty close between both games, minus avengers shield.
